Grand Teton National Park is just a short drive to Jackson, Wyoming. Even if you’re not eloping yet, Grand Teton National Park is the dream setting for intentional adventures. Perfect for romantic weekends, engagement sessions, or planning your future elopement. Let’s talk about where to go for the best outdoor adventures, romantic elopement day activities, where to eat, and where to stay.
There is an immense amount of untouched beauty in the Grand Teton area. You are incredibly close to Yellowstone National park so you may consider adding Yellowstone to your trip. You likely won’t get to do everything on your trip and that’s okay. If you are an avid hiker you may consider summiting a mountain and if you are here for all the sight seeing – driving around and admiring the views is a great option as well.
Within Grand Teton you can find a number places for sunrise and sunset. The following spots are considered the best for sunrise: OxBow Bend Turnout, Schwabacher Landing, Mormon Row, and Jackson Lake Dam. If sunsets are more of your jam consider the following: Signal Mountain, Snake River Overlook, and Oxbow Bend Turnout
If you’re looking for a relaxed and scenic enjoyment consider going on the scenic Ferry ride at Jenny Lake. in the National Park. Whether you’re hiking, driving, or on a boat bring your binoculars! You will likely see a bison, moose, bear, or a bald eagle. The amount of wildlife is amazing.
After a relaxing day enjoying all of the natural beauty Grand Teton National Park has to offer you may want to relax some more. Consider soaking in the hot tub or soaking in a hot spring nearby. I know the hot tub at Gravity Haus is amazing with a beautiful view in Teton Village. You may even consider going on a horseback riding tour with Spring Creek Ranch. A good stargazing session with campfire cuddles is also another great way to end your night.
First things first, you NEED to go to Moo’s ice-cream. I know, I know, the line is LONG. Trust me – It’s SO worth it. They have the best ice-cream I have ever had in my LIFE. I am sure you have seen everyone talk about Persephone Bakery, and I am here to tell you to make sure to stop in. The location in Wilson is recommended since it is less congested and it’s closer to Moose Wilson road (popular for moose).
My recommendation for dinner? Honestly, the best experience I had was at Orsetto’s. Their food was great and the ambiance was exactly the elevated experience you deserve. On the other hand, the best laid back experience was at Leek’s Marina and Pizzaeria. It will be busy but the views outside were great. Pro-tip: add pepperoni and mushrooms to the Sicilian pie.
As for where to stay, there are so many beautiful locations so be sure to look around. I stayed at Gravity Haus. A few honorable mentions for where to stay are the Cloud Veil the autograph collection, Modern Mountain, and Amangani.
As you take time to get used to the elevation you may find time to write your vows from your cozy porch. As I mentioned the scenic drive is amazing so you could take a day-before scenic drive through the Tetons. Take some time and visit local art galleries and/or Indigenous cultural sites there’s so much to see.
Even though I haven’t photographed an elopement here yet, I’m already location scouting. I’ll help you find intentional experiences and document your connection, not just the views.
