So, you’ve decided to elope — or maybe you’re still daydreaming about it. Do you need an elopement planner? A wedding day that’s quiet, meaningful, and rooted in just the two of you. No giant guest list, no pressure to perform. Just love, adventure, and intention. But as the excitement builds, so does one big question: “How are we going to plan all of this?”. As your elopement planner and photographer – that’s where I come in.
You’re not alone if you’re feeling overwhelmed.
From permits and timelines to figuring out where to start — planning an elopement can feel like a lot. You’re doing something so different from the traditional mold. That’s also so cool! The good news? You don’t have to do it alone. There are so many ways to get support that makes this process easier and true to you.
Let’s talk about what elopement planning really looks like — and whether or not you need a planner to bring your vision to life.
Planning an elopement for my clients starts the moment they reach out. On my contact form I have a few questions that help me get an understanding for the vibe my couple are looking for. Most of my clients are looking for a romantic, intimate, and warm adventure.
My clients sit down and chat about what they’re excited for and what their dream day looks like. Every client has a different vision for their dream day. Choosing unique locations for my couples that fit them best is a big part of my job. Once my clients decide to move forward with a package that best suits them, the real planning begins. My clients and I discuss location options that work for the elopement day they envision. Once they decide, I take the time to do the location scouting. After, clients answer a questionnaire about what is most important to them when it comes down to lodging, activities, and vendors.
Knowing what my clients prioritize is incredibly important to me so that their dream day is nothing short of exceptional. My clients and I revisit the timeline we had mocked up before and make any changes as needed.
In contrast with a traditional wedding planner, their work tends to be heavily focus on day of coordination. Additionally they provide vendors that service large crowds. People who get married traditionally tend to have afternoon ceremonies. Majority of their day is spent on getting ready. They ensure day of coordination in the same way an elopement planner would however, as an elopement planner and photographer I ensure a day after is reserved in the case of inclement weather.
As a full service elopement planner finding the best photographer for you is the easiest part because all of my packages include planning and photography. No need to spend anytime stressing about “How to plan my elopement” or “Where to find the best vendors” because I will take care of everything for you. I guide my clients through the entire experience. As a full service elopement planner and photographer I ensure the location scouting, timeline assistance, vendor recommendation, lodging recommendations, and activity suggestions!
When Tessa and Gregory first came to me they had no clue where to begin but right after our first meeting Greg was calling me his new bestie! They didn’t know exactly where to start, but once we started chatting about their dream day the rest was for me to work on. I love finding the perfect place and people to ensure the best elopement day.
This is why I only take on 30 couples a year — so each couple gets the care and guidance they deserve.
If you’re planning on having a multi-day elopement I would especially recommend having a timeline and having recommendations for lodging, activities, and great eats. If you plan on having guests the same thing should be considered but additionally having someone who is familiar with accessible options for grandparents is always a plus!
Now for the slightly more complex elopements – international elopements. Though it’s amazing to have a local photographer sometimes you find all the right vibes with a photographer who lives in Colorado (me). In this instance all the same things apply plus more. No need for you to do the research that’s what I am here for. It is especially important for your planner and photographer to understand the weather conditions for the season your interested in as well as road restrictions and even language barriers. If you just want extra hands or help managing a vision I offer consultations free of charge so just let it out and let’s chat about everything you’re envisioning.
However you choose to plan — it’s possible to have a beautiful, intentional, and stress-free day. Your elopement should feel like you, and that means finding the kind of support that honors your needs. Whether it’s just the two of you or you and your closest people – it’s going to be incredibly memorable. I would be honored to help you plan and document it.
So let’s chat! Reach out, no strings attached and get excited! You’re getting married to the love of your life. Contact me here. If your interested in a Colorado Springs Elopement check out my guide with Visit Colorado Springs.
